For Thanksgiving this year we finally made it to Colorado Springs! It had been a little over 2 years since we had been back to Colorado. We have tried but we moved to California the drive became a little more causing problems with weather and last summer Michael was taking a class and we have had to cancel because of sick kids. We were so happy to be back! We had a blast!! Olivia and Walter loved playing with their cousins. We FaceTime them a lot but it was so good to see them in person. They all got along so well. Olivia talks about them all the time and talks about going to Grandmas house again. Spence and Walt played together and Charlotte and Olivia played together. Ellanore and Kaylynn acknowledged each other but didn't play too much, they are only 2 weeks apart.
We spent one day in Fort Collins. We visited Michaels dad. We talk about how Grandpa Woolley is an angel and watches over us. It was special to have a moment with him. The moment didn't last long because there was a little bit of snow on the ground and the kids went crazy over it! We had one snow day but it wasn't much of a snow. It was still enough to get the kids so excited.
The week before we went to Colorado we went to visit my friend Allie and her family lives down the street from the house I lived in until I was 8. We took a picture in front of it. I was Olivia's age when I lived in that house. She asked a ton of questions about me living in the house. It was fun to share that memory with her.
Since I took a picture with Olivia in front of my childhood house we did the same thing in front of Michael's childhood home. She asked lots of questions about it and wanted to hear all of his childhood stories. Michael was very happy to go down memory lane while we were in Fort Collins. It was so cute!
We visited the Fort Collins Temple. It was incredible! Pictures don't do this sacred place justice. It was so peaceful being there. Michael's grandpa played a major roll in the development of the church in the Fort Collins area so this temple is special to the Woolley family.
Everyone was so excited when Uncle Daniel made home safely. He drove through a pretty bad storm and didn't get in until 3:30am!
Grandma took all the grandkids to a little play place. The kids had a blast running around. Ellanore was a little possessive of this car. It was so funny.
On Thanksgiving morning We took some family pictures. We had to forgo pictures at Garden of the Gods because it was so cold and windy but they turned out cute at this club house and we are all together! Walt was completely freaked out by JD's dog and wouldn't take his eyes off him. Ellanore on the other hand was so in love!! She loved Pax!
I never realize how much taller Michael is than me but when I see pictures like this I just laugh!
The rest of the day we cooked and prepared for dinner. Dinner was delicious!! We had so much fun! Ellanore waited until the big kids ran off to play and she ate all their left overs! It was so funny!
Like I said, dinner was so good I forgot to get the obligatory picture of all my food!
Once Daniel got home we played lots of games. We had so much fun! We miss living close to him and having him come over every Sunday for dinner and games.
On black Friday Grandma took the kids to get a buy one get one free build a bear! They were super cute picking them out and playing with them.
Walt got Pete's dragon and he is the cutes little dragon! He has slept with him every night since.
Olivia picked a my little pony and I tried to talk her out of it but she wanted it! She loved the bright rainbow hair.
Charlotte and Olivia dressed up for the occasion! These two were so cute together!
Ellanore would scream every time she saw Pax and poked his eye so many times. He was so good with her. She loved him so much!
We sure miss Aunite Leah!!
I got to have lunch with my roommate Hannah! It was so fun catching up with her!
On our trip to Colorado we split it up in 2 days and each day was about 9 hours. On the way home we left super early in the morning and we got to St. George where we were going to stay when we realized we only had 6 more hours and it was 3. We could easily get home before 10 if we just kept going. Everyone else must have had the same idea because we sat in 3 hours of traffic outside of Los Vegas and got home at 1AM!!! The kids did amazing!! Thanks to Christmas presents from Grandma Woolley!
When we got home I turned around and saw that Olivia had put her new and naked Mulan barbie up in the handle! It made me laugh so hard! It was so creepy! Like something out of the Ring!
We had such a great trip! We wish we could see our family more often! We love them all so much! Until next time Colorado!
