More Walt

Walter is in preschool and I just pray he doesn't say things about our family that are a bit exaggerated to his teachers haha!! So when we saw this picture of him saying his sister choking him makes him pout made me laugh! Often times walt is miss understood like when he was asked what his favorite animal was someone thought he said pink dragon but he loves his Pete's dragon stuffed animal. Or if you ask him a question he usually needs time to think so people start to suggest and he easily goes along with what they are saying; "do you like to eat your vegetables? They are yummy" duh he will go along with it and say "I like vegetables!" He is getting more of an opinion about vegetables now but you get the idea! He is so cute! I love him so much!

Also, yesterday during the sacrament he loudly told Michael and me that he drew a picture of himself and he has a bum bum and penis!! He has enter the stage of drawing people and figuring out how to get specific in his body parts like adding noses or ears and fingers. Later as the sacrament prayer ended he yells " amen cowboy!" Michael and I just looked at each other and giggled!! I'm trying to enjoy things like this more because it's so funny and because I feel like I miss so much joy by trying to keep my kids quiet and behaving.

Kindergarten

My baby is in kindergarten! This day seemed so far away and here it is! We have been going at it for a month now and we are in a good place but man is it HARD!! I still find myself  crying as she gets on the bus or when I leave after helping in her class I hold back tears. This is HARD! So many blessings have come from this big change and they have been really sweet but it has also been really hard.

Washington recently made kindergarten all day. On top of that the school down the street was so full they had to move the kindergarten classes to another school about 25 minutes away. This leaves us at the bus stop at 8:10am and she gets home at 4:10pm. She is gone 8 hours a day. I went from having her by my side 24/7 literally, since, she sneaks in bed with us every night, to seeing her for an hour in the morning and 4 hours after school. I try to move on and not think about it because when I do I tend to get upset and emotional about it.

The blessings I have seen from her going to school really have been sweet. I'm not one to make a schedule and stick to it if there isn't a real commitment to help me so now we are really scheduled and I like it. I like getting ready in the morning even if it is thrown together. After we drop her off at the bus I take walt to preschool that is pretty much next door to Olivia's school. I'm always driving past her school and on Wednesdays I even get to creep on her and watch her play at recess! While Walt is at school I get to help her teacher a little and then spend time with Olivia at lunch. Having just Ellanore twice a week for 4 hours has been a dream! Getting things done with one child is amazing! I love Olivia but she does make things harder. Example: we went to a pumpkin patch and no one was crying that they were hungry and no one was crying at me just because... she sets the example and the others follow along so usually this trip would have had 3 kids crying that they were hungry but instead we played and had a great time! (I did have major mom guilt so we went back the next week with her and it wasn't as easy but we still had a great time!) On the days walt doesn't go to preschool we drop Olivia off at the bus stop then go on a 2.5 mile walk. I would like to work out more but this has been something I have really enjoyed and our neighborhood is full of steep hills so it really gets my legs burning and my heart pounding pushing a heavy stroller up and down the hills. Another blessing has been bed time. The kids are going to sleep around 8:30 and it's been wonderful to have a minute to breath before bed. Anyways, the blessings go on and on and I'm grateful.

I'm trying to create good routines like devotional in the morning, reading books with Olivia after school, I hide my phone so I can give Olivia all my attention for the short time I have with her after school, and I love planning my week. Routines have been really great for us. My heart aches that I have lost a huge chunck of my day with her and my influence is limited. My time with her now has to be meaningful. It is all so hard but I have seen blessings so I will continue on and leave it in the Lords hands and  follow his plan. I know we are where we need to be and this will make us stronger and closer to Heavenly Father.

Olivia likes her teacher a lot. All the kindergarten classes have the cutest mascots except Olivia... her class mascot is a Seahawk hahaha!! I was about in tears the first time she told Michael "go Seahawks!!" Michael reminds her every time she points out a Seahawk (and that's about every other car and ever other house Haha! People from Seattle are huge Seahawks fans) that we are bronco fans haha!!

This last week was hard for Olivia. She gets really upset about thunderstorms. Every morning her class discusses the weather for the day and the following day so when her teacher told her there was thunderstorms in the forecast she was so anxious. Later that day there was an unexpected fire drill and she later told me she wanted to cry but she didn't. That nigh she kept asking to stay home she wanted to stay home with me so I could hold her. We talked about the weather and suggest that she ask Michael for a blessing. We said lots of prayers for her and she finally fell asleep. The next morning we moved slow and checked the weather, it was way too cold to have a thunderstorm and it finally came off the forecast. We dropped off walt at school then I took her to breakfast at chick fil a. We talked and giggled then we went to school. On our way i asked how she was feeling and she told me "I had a blessing and we said prayers so I am feeling a lot better." I love her testimony! I also love how walt remembered to pray for her!

I took her on a date for the first day of school. I think we will do this tradition every year!

Walt says

I haven't blogged at all this year and I wish I had! The kids do and say so many funny things and I wish I had taken the time to post pictures of them and their quotes. So here is to trying again! Ha!

I was cleaning the toilet when Walter walked in and asked "why are you brushing the toilets teeth!?" Haha! I told him he need to be cleaned because we feed him and he proudly said "I fed him this morning!!" Hahaha!! He started to help me scrub the toilet and I asked if we should name the toilet since we were so personal with it already! Walter without skipping a beat said "lets name it HoneyBun!!!!" I was laughing so hard! Where did he come up with that!!? I love how witty this little boy can be!

He also wishes he could go to preschool every day like Olivia so I told him when he isn't at school he is at "mommy preschool". He loved that idea! As I got him in the car to go pick up Olivia he said "thank you for picking me up from mommy preschool!" He has continued to say that any time we get in the car to go somewhere on his days off.

He gets so excited when I pick him up from school. He stands in the driveway and sees my van pull up and he jumps up and down and I can see him yelling "my mommy is here! My mommy is here!! That's my mommy!!" Then he thanks me for picking him up and he loves me!

I love this boy so much!! Im so blessed to be his mommy!

7th Anniversary!

After Walt and Michael's birthdays and lots of holiday parties and with Christmas a week away our anniversary usually gets passed over. It also didn't help that our anniversary was on Sunday this year. We did get to on a date earlier in the month for Michael's work party. It was nice to just be out with him. I loved how these pictures turned out! Maybe one day we will get to really celebrate our anniversary! Until then I am so grateful to be married to this guy! He makes me so happy and helps me be the best I can be! He is also an awesome daddy!

Michael's Birthday!

We had a fun day celebrating Michael's birthday. We drove to Los Angele's to our friend's Christmas tree lot. They let us pick out a Christmas tree! We were so excited to get a real tree this year! The kids ran around the lot and it brought back some fun memories. Growing up I would come with my best friend Allie to play at the Christmas Tree lot while her parents worked. We played hide and seek and ate candy canes! It was fun to be back.

Walter LOVED his Christmas Tree! After getting it in the car he held a branch all the way to the grocery store. When we got to the store he said "goodbye Christmas tree! I will miss you! I love you tree!" It was so funny! The kids went into the store with Michael to get our treats for the fun we had planned that night. We then headed to my Grandma Hunts house for lunch and we also met up with my parents and sister Emily.
After lunch we headed back to Orange County to pick up some fire wood and headed for a bon fire at the beach. It was freezing but so fun! We made s'mores and talked.

We decorated the Christmas tree when we got home! We loved our tree!

The next day on Michael's birthday we sang Happy Birthday and celebrated by going to church!
We love our daddy and we are so grateful for all he does for us! He works so hard and makes sure that there is a balance in our home. He makes us so happy and laughing every day! He loves the Lord and is always teaching us about the Savior's gospel. I love him so much!

Walter's 3rd Birthday!

My sweet sweet sweet Walter turned 3! This kid is the sweetest little boy ever! He has the most contagious laugh! He has the cutest smile that brightens up my day! I love listening to him talk because he is so expressive. He uses his eyes and eyebrows and his hands to talk. He tries to be just like his big sister and some times he acts a lot older than he really is.

Walter is quick to say sorry, thank you, and I love you! After I make a sandwich he says "thank you for making me this sandwich mommy!" or after I change his diaper, "thank you for changing my diaper mommy!"  He always tells Michael "I lub you Daddy! You my best friend for eber". He loves to be held and cuddled but it is always quick.

Walt likes to play with his cars all day but will quickly do anything to play with Olivia. He loves his trains, he can play with those for hours. We asked Walt if he wanted to be potty trained and he thought that he was going to get an actual a potty TRAIN! So we got him a new train set that he could earn if he would go potty in the toilet but that was short lived. He asked for his diapers back on and gave us his train that he earned that day.

I am so grateful for my sweet Walter boy! He brings our family so much joy! He brings a sweet spirit into our home.

I love my tradition of taking pictures with my babies on their birthday eve. These pictures and memories are so precious! I think these pictures capture Walt's personality really well!

For Olivia's birthday I threw streamers around the living room and the kids loved it so I did it again for Walt and it was a hit! He was so excited to wake up on his special day!
While I finished wrapping Walt's presents he unwrapped his first present while I wasn't looking and was beyond excited to find a Lightning McQueen shirt he saw a few months ago!
Dad stayed home a while I ran out to get donuts and a few gifts so we quickly wrapped them and opened them before he headed to work. This picture makes my heart so happy!!!
These two have a cute relationship and I just love it!
Walt has been really practicing holding his 3 fingers up and its adorable!
This is my world right here! I love these people more than anything! Im so grateful to be their wife and mommy! I am so blessed!
Dad headed to work and we headed to Disneyland!! We usually spend our time at Disneyland but we went to California Adventures to hang with the Cars crew. It was such a fun day! We met up with my mom and said hi to Mater first. When we got in line Olivia saw Mater blink and she excitedly exclaimed "Walt!! He blinked!! That is the real Mater!!" They were so excited to talk to him after that.
We arrived right at lunch time so we had lunch at Flo's Diner. Walt loved the Mac'n Cheese and Oma got Walt the meal that came in a Lightning McQueen car and he loves that car! He puts all of his little cars in him to carry them around.
As we walked out we saw Lightning!! Walt was excited to see him! After we went to see if Walt was tall enough to ride the Radiator Springs Racers ride but he is 2 inches too short.
So, we walked over to Luigi's then enjoyed a bunch of other fun rides. Walt had a fun birthday!
We got home but the kids were all asleep so I picked Michael up and we went and got pizza for when they woke up. Then we FaceTimed grandparents and sang Walt a Happy Birthday! I love this boy!!!

Christmas 2016

This Christmas was wonderful! It was full of adventures and excitement. On Christmas Eve we drove to my Uncle Eric's house and spent some time with my Mom's brothers family for a little. It was fun catching up with them. Its been a while since we have seen them. After that we drove down the street to my Grandma Hunts house for our annual Christmas Eve party. It was so fun visiting with family and just like last year it blew my mind that I am an adult now and MY babies are now playing Mary and the Shepard in the Nativity program! Olivia was very serious about her role as Mary. She wanted it to be perfect which is true to her sweet nature! Walt was adorable as usual!

We ended the night with lots of fun presents from Grandma Hunt!
Olivia got an American Girl Doll! I don't know who was more excited!! Ok, it was me! When we opened her up Olivia kept telling me it was her doll! haha I kept playing with her hair and changing her outfit!
Patty and her cute bump! Yay for Baby Boy Rodel!
After an Oakley "store", provided by Michael and all the Oakley stuff we have collected the last 2 years that was taking up our closet, we packed up the toys and got back in the car to head to my Mom and Dad's house. We got half way home and realized that the traffic we were about to hit was due to a road closure on the Grapevine because of ice and snow! We didn't know if it would open soon  and the alternative route would get us home at 2am so we turned around and went back to my Grandma's house to spend the night!! I was in heaven!!!! Growing up my cousins would always spend Christmas Eve at my Grandmas house and I always wished we could too! This was such a blessing! Im so glad we got to wake up and spend the day with my Grandma! This is definitely a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life!

Santa wrote Olivia and Walt a note explaining that he left their presents at Oma and Opa's house but he brought our stockings to us and filled them with treats. We left some cookies out for him when we got back to Grandmas house and Santa took a bite!
Isn't my Grandmas living room a magical Christmas sight!!!?
We had a delicious Christmas breakfast and took our time chatting. We decided to join my Grandma for church since we already missed my parents ward. It was a beautiful sacrament meeting and I felt the spirit so strong. I am so grateful for my Savior! I love the quote "There would be no Christmas if there had not been Easter. The babe Jesus of Bethlehem would be but another baby without the redeeming Christ of Gethsemane and Calvary, and the triumphant fact of the Resurrection." -Gordon B. Hinckley
We got back and were so blessed with so many gifts! Olivia and Walter got the gifts they asked from Santa. Olivia got a pink scooter and Walter got his blue bike! They were so excited! I got a GoPro! and FAITH HILL AND TIM MCGRAW tickets!!!!! Only bummer part is that the concert isn't until SEPTEMBER30!!!!!!! I'm so beyond excited! My first concert was a Faith Hill concert when I was in 6th grade and Faith Hill has been in my top 5 favorite since I was 10 and I love Tim McGraw!
'

My favorite gift was spending time with my family! I love them so much and I am so grateful for the birth of my Savior. Because of His birth and the Atonement I get to spend eternity with my family!!!
