One month!

I can't believe my little Walter man is only 1 month old! The month has flown by but I feel as if he has been with us forever. He is such a sweet boy. Here are a few things we have learned or experience with our little boy.

-Walter hardly ever cries and when he does it's mostly grunting.
-he grunts ALL the time!! If you touch him he grunts.
-he snores really loud! I always wondered about people complaining about how their babies were loud sleepers and I never understood... Until now.
-Walter has great aim! He is good at puddling his pee right in his eye!
-newborn baby boys are extremely hard to change! I think girls are a lot easier.
-Walter loves to hang out late at night... He thinks a good bed time is 2am! I don't think he understands that 2am is an awful bed time!
-he has perfect hand placement.
-he loves to cuddle and be held
-he has great facial expressions a the time.
-he currently has a flat head and likes to look to the right so we have to turn his head to the left and hope he doesn't have to wear a helmet.
-he gets kicked a lot... He is learning quick that he is a little brother!
-he was circumsized at 4 days old and lost his umbilical cord at 2 and 1/2 weeks (New Years Eve)
-he is good at nursing just like Olivia was.
-his hands are always open which is interesting since Olivia's were always tight fists.
-he has baby acney like Olivia did and hopefully it will go away soon.
-he is so laid back and let's me kiss him all day long!
-he is filling out and at his 2 week check up he was 8lbs even and still 20 inches.

We love our little man and are really exited to get to know him more!

Perfect hand placement!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Having a new baby kept everything simple and busy.

The Monday before Christmas my whole family (except Dallin :( he had to stay home and work) came to our house. It was perfect! Everyone got to enjoy baby Walt and Olivia was in heaven! The second they walked into the house Olivia was in her Opas arms.

My biggest concern about having another baby was that Olivia would feel neglected. Having Walter at a time when my whole family could visit was perfect! They made the transition so much easier! She didn't stop playing because there was always a fresh person to play with after a game ended.

I was wrapping gifts and Olivia kept trying to open them so I collected the toys around me and wrapped them for her to play with. It kept her busy for a solid... 5 minutes!

Target had elf diapers and we couldn't resist getting them. Olivia was obviously an angry elf. She has never enjoyed getting her diaper changed, it's always a fight.
Emily was in heaven holding Walter. When Olivia was this little Em got sick and couldn't hold her, it made her so sad. Luckily She was the only one in the family to not get sick over Christmas so she held him a lot.
I'm so glad Rachael is here till April. It's nice to know she is around to help if I need... That is if the snow doesn't stop her from coming down... Or boys ;)
Austin was amazing with Olivia! She LOVES him! And how cute is he holding his nephew!?
My dad held Walter the most while he was here. If I wasn't feeding or changing him my dad was holding him. It was so cute! They will be best buds forever, just like Olivia and him are!
I really wish we lived closer to my family, I think that every day. Olivia had the best time building forts and being carried around.
On Christmas Eve we opened our traditional pajama presents but Olivia didn't make it. She was out around 7. She was on the go all day and it wore her out.
Walter wasn't thrilled about his gift, he just wanted to eat.
But he sure looked cute in his Santa jammies!
So cute that I wanted you to see another picture...
And another!!! He is just so sweet and perfect!!!
I forgot to mention that the day we brought Walter home from the hospital Olivia got croup and then we all got sick. It was hard having a new baby sick and us being sick. It made the nights a lot longer. I'm grateful we are all healthy now. We have only left the house a handful of times to avoid any more sickness. Sorry if you want to see baby Walt but we aren't really up for visitors or going out much just yet. I don't want Olivia or Walter to get sick again.
This is our traditional pose in our matching jammies
I wish Dallin was with us.
Ok, I like him a lot and this was the best picture we got.
I was so excited for Christmas morning. Olivia had no idea what was about to happen but she loved talking about Santa and looking at the huge blow up Santa our neighbors had in their yard. She loved all her presents!
I love how much fun Olivia had with her cute uncle Austin!
For my moms 50th birthday we went to see frozen. It was Olivia's first movie theater experience and she did great. It helped that we were in the front row and she had space to run. It was awful sitting so close everyone had a sore neck and tired eyes after. We went home after the movie and auntie Em looked up the soundtrack on YouTube and we have been listening to frozen all day every day since. I can't say I love waking up to feed Walter and singing every song in the movie but it is so cute waking up to her singing "let, go".
How cute are they!? 50 years looks good on my mom and dad! 5 kids and 2 grand babies!
I love how tiny he is!!
Olivia got a dr kit and she had so much fun playing with it with my mom. My mom is seriously the best grandma! She is always down at Olivia's level playing with her.

It was so hard saying good bye to everyone. Olivia was so sad to see her friends leave. I miss all the help and conversations. I hate not knowing when we will see everyone again.

We had a wonderful Christmas and I had a completely different understanding of the importance of this season. I love my little Walter more than anything and I could only imagine how Mary felt about her son, The Son of God. I'm grateful to have had Walter around the time we celebrate our Saviors birth. It has been a wonderful reminder of my role as a mother to teach my children about our Savior.

I hope everyone had a special Christmas!
