It's going to be a cool summer!

After last years extremely hot summer we finally got our AC fixed!
In November 2010 we were driving to California late at night and we were both sick. I passed a cup of water to Michael but he didn't have a good grip on the cup and I let go. The cup fell and the water went flying all over the dashboard. Well, we didn't realize that the water short circuited the air conditioner until we tried to use it in June the next year.
During this time without air conditioning we went on a few hot adventures! Rachael and I drove from Idaho to California in 107 degree weather! It was a long and hot sweaty journey. I drove my cute grandma and grandpa through Utah traffic (it was probably around 100 degrees). I drove multiple times to Utah and back. Michael and I drove to Colorado and back while I went through my one week of morning sickness when I was pregnant. It was a long summer.
Now that we have a sweet little baby to take care of we decided that we couldn't make her suffer through the heat as we drive to California in 2 weeks. So, we got the AC fixed today!! I didn't realize how much this would get me excited until yesterday. I was so giddy. This morning I got into the warm car and thought to myself "it would be nice if the AC was working" then I remembered that is why I was getting into my car!!
Once we picked the car up and I got to drive it home with cool air blowing on my face! I couldn't stop smiling the whole way home!!!
Here is to a cool summer!!!

5 weeks old!

It blows my mind to think that Olivia is now 5 weeks old!
Time has flown by!
Our new favorite game is to get her to smile. When we make kissie sounds on her cheeks she gives us the biggest smiles! It melts my heart and makes me fall in love with her even more!
Some other things about Olivia:
She is finding her hands now. She loves to grab blankets, clothes, fingers, and her pacifier. I don't know if she does it on purpose or not but it is cute.
She love her swing! When she is crying we put her in it and she will stop crying and within seconds she will fall fast asleep.
Olivia LOVES music! She loves to sit up on my lap and look for the music. She also loves dancing to the music (thats my little girl! a future dancer!!!)
She loves her pacifier. She wont take just any pacifier though. It has to be the one from the hospital that you can only get in the hospital! I hope we never lose that thing!
She is starting to be more awake during the evening which is a lot of fun.
She likes to stretch out and arch her back.
She loves looking around. She likes to find people.
At two weeks she was able to hold her head up really well and this has only gotten better. She gets stronger and stronger every day.
I think that is a good list for now. I love being her mommy and I love hanging out with her all day. I feel so blessed to be her mother and to teacher her all that I know. We started last week by watching the Jane Austin classics and of course some Disney classics! This week we will be working on some Rodgers and Hammerstein oldies but goodies!!

So in love!!

I never thought I would love being a mom this much.
Being a mom brings me such joy!

Grandmas came to visit!

We had a wonderful 2 weeks full of family!

We picked Grandma Hunt up from the airport and gave Olivia a bath that night.
Our first day with Nana we took Olivia to the doctors. At her 2 week appointment she had put on 9 ounces!
We really love her doctor. He was singing to her.
Michael's grandma passed away so Marcia, Lizzy, Spencer, and Rachel drove to Utah to go to the funeral and stopped by Idaho Falls to meet the newest addition to the family.
The two grandkids on the Woolley side. I LOVE this picture!
Grandma Woolley, Lizzy, Spencer, and Olivia.
We tried to take fancy pictures but we will just have to leave that up to Bree when we go to California!
 We took naps.
We showed my mom around town and took family pictures

 Me and my mom!

 3 generations!
Of course we went shopping!! This is Olivia's new shirt for fishing with dad.
We took Nana and Olivia to BearWorld for the first time! Crazy lady scratching the bears tummy!
 Olivia and the baby cubs
Did you know that a mother bear gives birth to her cubs while she is asleep and they are the size of a walnut and when she wakes up from hibernation they are the size of a Twinkie!! Wouldn't that be nice if us humans could do that!
A good friend from school came over to visit! Amanda brought her baby. It is amazing to see how much a baby develops in just 4 and 1/2 short months.
We then took Nana to the airport after enjoying her company for 2 weeks.
Thanks Grandmas for coming to visit your little grand baby! Olivia loved visiting with you. We can't wait to see you soon.

The Power of a Shower

Having a baby to take care of is lots of work! When I say lots of work I mean lots of fun and enjoyable work. I love catering to Olivia's every cry. At 2am when she is smiling at me I can't help but to get a little emotional and want to kiss her all over. I love this little girl so much!

Post pregnancy is an emotional roller coaster to begin with so when you haven't showered for 24 hours it starts to take toll on your emotional well being. Today was one of those roller coaster days and by noon I couldn't keep myself together. Olivia was wide awake and I was afraid to leave her alone while I showered. Then Michael came home, put on some fun dance music, let me shower, and my day had completely changed! I feel like a new mom! It is amazing what a shower can do for you and it's also amazing what a husband can do to cheer up his wife! So here is to more power showers and dance parties!!!
Olivia after her power bath. Im sure she felt just as good as I did.

Our new adventure with Olivia

Our little angel is now 10 days old! I'm not sure how I feel about this. It feels as if she has been with us for an eternity already. Being a mother feels so natural. Michael and I are so in love with her. Just as I predicted she has Michael wrapped around her little pinky finger! If she starts to cry Michael is by her side within seconds. She gets so many kisses from us and we never put her down. She is the most beautiful baby. Michael and I can spend hours just looking at her.

I know that everyone has their own opinions about parenting and how to take care of a baby. This was hard for me at first. I tried to do what everyone was telling me what to do. Finally I broke and decided that this is MY child (still weird that I have a baby to take care of) and I will do what I feel is right to take care of her.

At 10 days old she has so much personality. We call her our smiley baby. When she sleeps she is always smiling. Our other name for her is One Eyed Willy. She likes to keep one eye on us while she sleeps. When she was in my belly I had a feeling that she would be a very laid back baby. I was totally right. She is so calm. When she made her appearance she cried just enough to get her airways cleared then they laid her on my chest and she just looked at me. She sure does know how to scream but only when she wants something.

She is the sleeping champ! We wake up twice to feed her during the night and when I say we I mean I wake up and have to wake her up. She wont wake up for anything... don't bother giving me advice on how to wake her up. I have heard it all, rub her feet, tickle her, rub the collar bone, rub behind her ear... and all the other tricks but this little girl like her sleep just like her mom! She is also a night owl like her mom. She will sleep all day and through but trying to get her to go bed is the hard part. She is just like every little kid when it comes to going to bed.

She looks just like Michael. When they placed her on my chest the first thought I had was that she is a mini Michael. She has his big lips, our squinted eyes, she has my cheeks and my chin but her over all appearance looks like Michael. She also has the perfect amount of hair.

I think she thinks its funny when I change her and she poops 10 seconds after I throw the old diaper away and wash my hands. She likes to pee when we change her too. We just laugh and kiss her all over when she does this.

I love being a mother! This is the greatest job ever. I feel so blessed to have her with me. I am starting to teach her about all my favorite movies and songs. We have good discussions. Who knows if she is even listening to me since she is always asleep during these discussions haha. My heart is so full of love right now.

I also want to say how much I love Michael. He is so amazing. I had a really hard delivery but having him by my side made it so much easier. He has taken such good care of us. We are so blessed to have Michael in our lives. I am so grateful that Michael and I are sealed in the Temple for eternity and that little Olivia Anne is sealed to us for eternity because of our Temple marriage. I am so blessed to be able to spend eternity with my two favorite people!

The last prego picture at 40 weeks and 1 day
About to go to the hospital at midnight... had no idea what was about to happen
2am Saturday April 21 finally got admitted to the hospital... I was only 1cm dilated and not effaced but I had been having steady contractions for 2 days so they let me stay and gave me some nice meds to help me sleep through the night.
The next morning. Still no progress but still having contractions pretty steady so they put me on pitocin to speed things up and 30 minutes after that my Dr. broke my water. 30 minutes after that I couldn't breath through the contractions...
So a nice man gave me an epidural to make life enjoable again and the nice nurses gave me my favorite popsicles... BANANA and ROOTBEER! Life was good again!
 About to be parents!
Michael got a kick out of my signature for the epidural... I did my best at signing my name but I was in pain!
My Aunt Liz and cousin Megan came to visit us!
After a long labor we finally had our little girl in our arms what a wonderful moment!
Such an amazing support and a wonderful father!
