I am so in love!
I look at other couples all the time and think I wish we were like that... I wish we would do that... I wish our life was like that... Then I remember how AWESOME our life is!
Right now Michael is in one of those "We need.." moods. He is getting our 72 hour kits ready. It is so cute. He spends hours on the computer making lists of things we need to prepare. Every trip to Walmart we spend a good 30-40 minutes looking at the outdoor isle. We look at tarps, hiking socks, boots, water purifiers, tents, and I could go on and on but you get the idea. He is really getting into preparing us for an emergency. Yeah it is important for us to be prepared but I just fall in love with him every time he gets excited about another website he has found to help us prepare or new information he has found. I love seeing him happy!
Every day around 12:00 I get so giddy for him to come home for lunch. He tells me about his day and just talks to me. I love it!
Another thing Michael is really into right now is watching fly fishing videos online. He finds some really cool videos that have awesome music and he gets up and dances to them. I LOVE WHEN HE DANCES!! I cannot express how much I love it when he dances!
When we are walking places Michael will put his arm around my waste and pick me up and carry me a few feet. It may be funny to him that he can do that to me but in reality it really helps me keep up with him. For every one step Michael takes I have to take 2 quick steps. Yesterday when Michael was speed walking to get us into Walmart so we wouldn't get wet from the rain I had to run to keep up with his speed walking.
I know that Michael is really tall. It's funny how people think they are so clever when they make jokes about how much taller he is than me or how much taller he is than my WHOLE family. It is one of the qualities I absolutely love about Michael. I am always safe in his arms or by his side.
I am so grateful for my knowledge of how special marriages are. I am grateful that I married Michael in the House of the Lord. When Michael and I were married in the Los Angeles Temple 2 years ago we were married not just for time but time and
ALL ETERNITY. What a sacred blessing it is to be married to such a kind and loving man for eternity!
I read a talk given by Elder Russell M. Nelson a member of the 12 apostles. His talk is entitled
Nurturing Marriage. In his talk he said some profound things that help me with my marriage. I will put a few of the quotes on my blog. These statements that he has made remind me of the strong marriages in my life and help me see the successful marriages that are all around me. I have mentioned a few of these marriages in my blog before but I want to mention them
again.
I knew I was going to marry Michael when he demonstrated characteristics that the men in my life have showed me are so important.

I see the way my Grandpa Hunt looks at my Grandma and I know that he cherishes her. I remember one special night when all my family was gathered around to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We sang the song
Families Can Be Together Forever then my Grandpa got up and said a few word about how much he loves my Grandma. I will NEVER forget the love I felt when he shared those special feelings about my Grandma with my family. He talked about the blessings he had received from marring my Grandma in the Temple just like Michael and I did. I look forward to the day when Michael and I have our family (children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren) gathered around to celebrate all our years marriage. I knew I would marry Michael when he looked at me like my Grandpa Hunt looks at my Grandma. And I hope I can take as good of care of Michael as my Grandma Hunt takes care of my Grandpa.

The hardest thing in life is to loose a loved one. I don't remember much about my Grandma Hansen but I do know that my Grandpa Hansen sure does love her just by the sweet way he talks about her. The way he speaks her name shows how special she is to him. My Grandpa Hansen is a tease! I have heard stories about how he would tease my Grandma. I knew that Michael would fit in just right when he started to tease me after the first few dates (Michael's famous quote: "I have to give you a hard time so you know when you are having a good one") Another thing that made me fall in love with Michael was when I called my Grandpa after a really hard day. My Grandpa asked me what he could do to help me. That night I was with Michael and told him of my day and he asked me the same thing my Grandpa asked me. If Michael was so willing to serve me like my Grandpa was I knew he was a keeper. I know for a fact that my Grandpa Hansen served my Grandma all of their marriage.

My dad... Even thought my dad isn't the biggest and toughest man I never feel more secure and safe than when I am with him. He does such an amazing job taking care of me and my family. I know he will protect me from the bad guys and I know that he would do anything to make sure my needs are met. This is how Michael is with me. He is always making sure I am fed, that our bills are paid, that I am happy, that I am comfortable, and so much more. This is how my Dad is with my Mom. Sometimes it scares me how similar my Dad and Michael are. Another thing about my Dad, he is probably the funniest man alive! You would never know that though. Michael and my dad are so quiet but I never laugh as much as I do when I am with my Dad and Michael. My Mom tells me that she fell in love with my Dad because he was so funny. This goes the same for me! Oh, I love talking to my mom on the phone every day and hearing how giddy she still is about my dad... I know that is how I will be in 26 years too!

I never met my father-in-law but I am so grateful for my mother-in-law's faith that she will see him again. I know that she loves him with all her heart. I have heard her talk about their struggles and how every time everything worked out for the best. This must be where Michael gets his great attitude from. I know that every marriage has its struggles and it is good to see a family so strong after loosing a father. I know that our marriage will succeed after all of our struggles and that our family is eternal. I also know that Michael's dad was a very hard worker and I see that he has picked up that trait from his dad.
Here are some of the quotes... You should just read/listen to the talk it is great!
--Marriage is sanctified when it is cherished and honored in holiness. That union is not merely between husband and wife; it embraces a partnership with God. “Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other.”
--Celebrate and commemorate each day together as a treasured gift from heaven.
--President Harold B. Lee said “that the most important of the Lord’s work you and I will ever do will be within the walls of our own homes.” And President David O. McKay declared, “No other success can compensate for failure in the home.”
