20 days of Cupcakes!

I have been feeling pretty worthless the last few months (this whole busy college student to stay at home wife isn't keeping me as busy as I had hoped... and although Rexburg is only 30 minutes away I feel like a lost puppy with no one to play with me while Michael is at work.) I only have one job and it is once a week. I spend my days at home and I have been driving myself crazy. I couldn't handle any more of my lazy behavior. After spending many hours looking at some of my friends blogs and seeing all that they accomplish and how fun their lives are I decided it was time to get over this little phase in my life.

I decided it has been too long since I did what I like to do... Make Cupcakes! I got out my cupcake books and looked for the cute fall cupcakes and after spending 20 minutes trying to decide which cupcake I should make I decided I will make them ALL!

There are about 20 cupcake ideas for the fall season. I will make my cupcakes on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Fridays. I will make the actual cupcakes on Monday and decorate 5 or 6 a day.

Day one: Pumpkins

Day two: Sunflowers

Laurin and Joe Leiser!

My really good friend Laurin married her best friend this weekend! It was the most beautiful day and they deserved it! Laurin and Joe thought Michael and I were cool enough to be invited to the Temple ceremony which was so kind of them to do. Simply said it was spiritual and beautiful ceremony.

Something that caught me off guard was how nice her family was... I should have seen that coming from a mile away since Laurin has the sweetest heart. After the wedding we were waiting outside the temple for Laurin and Joe to come out. We didn't want to get in the way of her family so we hung out in the back of the crowd then a few members of Laurin's family came to talk to Michael and I. For the rest of the day at the temple they would come find us to talk to us and made sure we were included in all the pictures. They were really funny! Also, Laurin's dad has a brother that looks EXACTLY like him. No, They aren't twins but they could say they were and I would have believed it! I was confused the whole time which was her dad and I have met him a few times before the wedding day!

Laurin was the most BEAUTIFUL bride! I have never seen anyone look as happy as she did!

Proof that we really did attend the wedding

Such a beautiful family

I have started a tradition with the weddings I have attend lately. I like to blog about our friendship so that is what I am going to do. Laurin and I have been friend for 4 years now. It all started in a Jazz class that we had together. We stood in the back and talked the whole time. We were also in a Kinesiology class that semester. Our friendship grew a lot when we both failed the class and had to take it again the next winter. Every semester from then on out we were always together in the Kirkham studio. Last fall our friendship really developed into a best friend kind of friendship. We both auditioned for the Dance Alliance company at school. We dances 20 hours a week together. People would always ask us if we were best friends. Laurin and I would just smile and look at each other. We were like magnets, we always ended up standing next to each other without having to search for each other.

We are also referred to as The Laur(i)(e)n's if anyone needs us.

At the beginning of school last year I would take Laurin home from class and she would tell me about this Joe kid. She told me how she was unsure where they stood in their relationship but she sure did like him a lot! Every day she seemed to glow more and more when she talked about him. Finally one day in October Laurin told me that Joe was taking her to Jackson Hole Wyoming. I told her I bet tonights the night! Of course she told me all the reasons why she though it wasn't going to happen. Well around 8 that night I got a text from Laurin saying she was engaged!!! I felt so honored when Joe and Laurin actually came over that night to talk to us and show us the ring!! They were so happy!!

Well, as time went on Laurin and Joe had their trials but nothing would stop them from getting married in the temple! I look up to Laurin so much. When she wants something she will do anything to get it. Laurin and I had many good talks about marriage and every time I could always see how much she truly loved Joe. In April Laurin and I would have rehearsal all day for the tour to Texas we were about to go on and in the back of the auditorium I would see Joe sitting there watching Laurin all day. I can always see how much Joe loves Laurin just by the way he looks at her... Joe is a goob when he is around Laurin.

Another tid bit of information for the reader. Laurin and Joe bought our apartment contract from us when we graduated. That apartment will bring you lots of happiness. We have so many memories in the apartment and we hope you do too!

Laurin and Joe,
Michael and I wish you the best of luck with your marriage. You are a beautiful and happy couple. We have seen you go through some pretty big trials and we have only seen good things come from those trials. You are a wonderful example to us. We hope we can be good family friend for the rest of our lives!

Laurin and I were in a dance about being mothers. I hope our children can be best friends like us!!

Congratulations Laurin!!!!

Our backyard!

After this last weekend I may not move to Colorado tomorrow. After spending Saturday in Yellowstone I realized that Idaho is pretty awesome too. We drove an hour and a half to West Yellowstone in Montana then ten minutes later we were in Wyoming. We drove all through Yellowstone by rivers that people pay lots of money to get here to fish. We saw scenery that people never get to see because of distance and we live two hours away! I really like living in Idaho.

He was waiting in the entrance to greet us

Yes, he is in the middle of the street dodging cars... and ran straight up to us. I think he knew very well what he was doing... giving everyone heart attacks.

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

Isn't this the most beautiful view?
Here is a better picture of the Grand Canyon

He was dying to get in the river and fish... Maybe not here but at places that were shallow and didn't have a waterfall.

The upper falls

It was amazing in person. As you stand looking down at the canyon there is a chilly breeze blowing and the mist from the waterfall is blowing up on you and the sound of trees blowing in the breeze is all around you. It was amazing!

One thing about Yellowstone: every 10 miles or so there is a heard of people gathering at one of the pull offs gazing into the distance. Of course we get out and ask what they are looking at.

Tourist: "See that little black dot off in the distance? By that tree?"
Us: "Uh, which tree?" There are BILLIONS of trees.
Tourist: "Oh silly me, that dead one right there."
Us: "Um, No." There was a fire here about 10 years ago so there are a lot of dead trees
Tourist: "Its by that opening of trees. Now do you see that dead tree?"
Us: "Ok, well, What is IT?"
Tourist: "Wolves"

Well those little wolves were about 2 miles away and the tourist we were talking to had a super nice telescope. We then asked a nice man with binoculars next to us if he saw them and he said he saw a fleck of a black and white dot. At least these buffalo were big enough to see with our camera.
There were buffalo everywhere!
We did see one geyser
When we lived in Rexburg we could see the other side of the Tetons from Main Street on a clear day. We can't see them now that we are in Idaho Falls but it goes to show that this is really our backyard.

If you ever get a chance to visit our backyard let us know we would love to go with you!
