To take this back even farther we started praying to know if Idaho was where we needed to be back in October. We weren't itching to get out of Idaho and in fact we were/are extremely happy here but the thought that we needed to be somewhere else kept coming to mind and making us "uneasy". We graduated and moved down the street and we felt that there were more adventures waiting for us which made us more uneasy because we are extremely comfortable in our easy going slow life here! My life here is exactly what I imagine our ending place to be like. Great friends surrounding us, a job that provides for our family and makes Michael happy, lots of fun activities, a great ward family, and a beautiful home that I'm totally in love with!!
So, after Oakley called that Friday we went to Utah and had 2 long car drives to talk about all the "what ifs". It was fun and so exciting thinking about being close to family and living so close to the beach and maybe some sweet sunglasses!? Monday rolled around and Michael had his interview and it went really well. We were hesitant though. They told Michael he was one of the first people they had interviewed for the position and they were about to have a 2 week break for Christmas. We were sure we would be forgotten. Christmas came and went and we only mentioned it a few times.
After the new year Michael got a call from Oakley saying they wanted to interview him face to face! We were shocked and so excited! We spent the next 2 weeks talking about it all the time! What if!! I had days where I couldn't wait to find out right then what was going to happen and the next day I hoped they didn't want us so I didn't have to leave what I have spent the last 2 years creating. We both agreed that what ever happened we would be excited about.
Michael finally was ready for his interview! We got him to the airport and he noticed his licence was expired! We started to worry! We said lots of prayers and we were blessed! Michael was able to get on the plane and get his rental car without any problems! (we are grateful for my Aunt who drove to the airport to pick Michael up in case he couldn't get a car!) the next day the interview went really well! Michael had no regrets. He felt at peace with everything and we both got some sweet sunglasses for really cheap!!
We were expecting a call from Oakley Friday and we had a week to think about how we would respond or react. Of course it was all we could think about. So when Michael called me at lunch on Monday frazzled and telling me they offered us the job we didn't know what to do or think! I called my family and got their advice and prayed and prayed!! Michael came home and we wrote everything out, pros and cons, money, happiness, everything. When we came to the end of a topic it was as if we were accepting the position. We have felt peace and excitement and of course sadness but it all has felt right. After a family drive with a few more calls Michael emailed Oakley and accepted the offer.
We had a great 6 years with Melaleuca and we have fallen in love with Idaho! We love our friends and all the people we have met! Idaho is a very special place to us, we met here, a lot of our firsts were here, we had our babies here!! Our first house! So much happiness is here! I'm grateful how everything has turned out!
We have a lot ahead of us!! There are some big adventures that are about to happen!! We are excited and know that this is going to be a good change for us!
Michael starts February 9th and we will move the weekend before. It gives us 3 weeks! We have a lot going on and are so excited!!
