We bought Olivia the cutest hippo pajamas because my grandma collects hippos. I had to get these since they are patriotic and oh so cute!
Look at that bum!!!
We went to the Rexburg splash park with my cousin-in-law and her little guy. Olivia had a blast. She wasn't so sure about the water until I put her on the slide. After going down once she had one thing on her little mind. She went down 20 times probably and loved it!
We made a little announcement on the 4th and Olivia helped set it up. I'll do another post about our exciting news.
This year we did things differently. On the 4th of July Melaleuca does a huge firework show that is in the top 10 best shows in the US. It is a huge all day event. The Snake River is lined with food vendors and tons of crafty people and thousands of people walk along the river and camp out all day to get great seats for the show. For the last 5 years we camped out and endured the hot weather. This year we purchased tickets to the Melaleuca freedom celebration. It started at 7:30 and we got a parking pass so we didn't have to park miles away. There was a huge banquet with yummy food and we sat in the shade of the Shilo Inn. After dinner we got to enjoy the classic sounds of the Idaho Falls Symphony. Sadly a few drunk men jumped into the Snake River to swim to the island in the middle and one man didn't make it across. After the show was postponed for an hour the show stared at 11. This year the show was great and louder than ever! While others sat in horrible traffic we zoomed out and we were home in 30 minutes. We has a great experience and I think we may do the 4th of July like this every year.
I LOVE this picture of my favorite people!
Olivia loves eating dinner at her table and chairs
Our neighbors little boy is a little older than Olivia and they get along really cute! They kept giving each other high-fives all night.
We went over to their house to light a few fireworks on the 5th.
On Saturday we attempted a drive-in movie.
We saw Monsters University which we only watched half of because it was way past Olivia's bed time and she had been up past 12 a few times this week causing her to be extremely tired and cranky. Poor baby just wanted to sleep in her own bed at a normal hour. (We don't keep her up that late, it is just a holiday weekend!)
We got her to sleep and watched the second movie, Lone Ranger. We should have just gone home. The movie was disappointing. We are going to wait till next summer to try the drive-in again.
We were sad dad had to go back to work so we got a snow shack to cheer us up.
How cute is she!? This is her favorite seat in the house. Maybe it is because we don't have AC or maybe because it is just her size. Either way I love when she turns around and backs up to the edge and takes a seat! Love her!
