We have less than a week till her due date.
We have everything we will ever need:
Rocking Chair
Swings
Bouncers
Boppy pillows
Diapers
Pacifiers
Clothes to last till she is 2 years old
Burp-up rags... She is part Hunt so we made sure to stock up!
Car seat with a cover so annoying people wont poke her
Stroller
Pack-n-play to go on vacations
Wipes to last us an eternity... I know you people wont believe me but we have over 2,500 wipes. Im sure someone will tell me how I'll be amazed how fast they go but you have to admit that is a lot of wipes!!
A crib that is still in a box and will remain in the box till we move in 3 months...
Crib bedding
We are all packed for the hospital... Well, Michael was until he pulled all his clothes out to wear them today!!! I will have to pack him all over again!
We are pre-registered
The house is clean
The shopping is done
We have tons of blankets... She will never freeze in Idaho
We have carriers to go on hikes or to take her on fishing trips
And the list goes on and on and on....
The only thing we are missing is her!!!!!!!!
I have been so blessed to have an easy pregnancy. I am 39 weeks pregnant and I still feel like I can run a marathon... but I hate running so I wont be doing that and she is so high in my ribs I'm sure I would pass out within the first 30 seconds of running so lets say I could walk a marathon!
She is a wiggle worm and I am so excited to see her move. You would think that if you are that cramped in such a small place and like to move as much as she does you would like to come out sooner than later. But it is all up to her.
I keep getting advice like "enjoy your sleep now" but I'm not sleeping great anyways so you could say I am ready for her to come and keep me company at 3 in the morning.
Today Michael asked me a question about babies and I didn't know the answer. He then looked at me with a very serious face and said "What did you get us into? I thought you were an expert at babies! Now what are we going to do?" It was so funny. I am so excited for this little adventure to come and to learn how to be a mommy.
My only pet peeve lately is how everyone tells me the negative side of being a parent. We will never sleep again, they cry, they poop, they spit up, the recovery is hard, you loose your social life, and to them I say... Keep it to yourself! I was told pregnancy is hard but I learned for myself that I can handle it. I am ready to be a mom!
It really is starting to set in... AH! We are going to have a baby!!! It's scary and exciting!! Lets see what happens this week!

39 weeks
Michael is preparing now. He is cleaning his guns to scare any boys who want to date our daughter!
Don't listen to anyone saying anything negative about being a parent!!! We have been at it for two and a half weeks now and maybe I am still high on happy hormones but even when he is crying at three in the morning I still just stare and marvel at this wonderful gift God chose to give us! Yes there are hard things, but when she looks at you with wide eyes they all feel so little and worth it. You are going to be an amazing mother!! Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteWell it's definitely the truth that they cry, poop, spit up and that parenting can be hard and tiring. But they also learn, laugh, cuddle and smile and those positive experiences far outweigh any kind of negative that comes with it. Good luck! Sending good labor vibes your way.
ReplyDeleteBeing a parent is the best - nothing better. Sure, you don't always get your sleep, but they grow up WAY too fast. so enjoy the sleepless nights, the poopy diapers, the spit up...all of it, cause you blink and all that changes. Some days, I have to remind myself of that, but it's true. They change your life in the best way. XOXO Best of luck. Can't wait to hear how everything goes. Keep us posted. ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Isn't it amazing how much stuff babies need? Cary and I are more amazed that our endless stacks of burp clothes and clothes barely get us through a day before we gotta do another load of laundry, it's crazy.
ReplyDeleteI hope that baby shows up soon and labor is easy. Our only advice would be to take tons of pics those first 6 weeks, and jot down special moments, because the sleep deprivation somehow clouds those first few weeks... we joke and call it the hazy phase. But seriously, having a baby is fun and wonderful and exhausting and definitely a learning experience. Oh and Cary said to tell Michael tons of wipes are good, cause even when it's your own kid you don't want the poop on you.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you got the chicco car seat. We have it and I have loved everything about it. Some shopping carts you have to put it in the back but I don't care, it is so easy to adjust and comfy for baby, love love it. You will be an incredible mom and you know what people will always say what they are going to say, but they don't know how you feel and who they are. It's funny, people have a harder time than I do accepting that I may not have any girls. I can't tell you how many horror stories I hear and it just makes me laugh because yes, there are hard days, but you know what I wouldn't trade it for the world. You are so on top of everything, I am very impressed with your list. I just went through it and made my checklist. Kip asked me today if I have a bag packed for the hospital, I was like ohhh yeah...that's kind of important huh :):). If you have questions, reach out to those moms that you trust me and no one will think anything less of you. We are here to learn and grow and believe it or not other moms love to give advice because we have all be there :). I'm so happy for you, you have always been so loving and caring, this whole thing they call parenting is going to come so natural to you :)
