My best friend Allie got married this last weekend. It was a beautiful wedding and I am so happy for her!
I'll let you in on the story of our friendship!
Alisha "Allie" Mansfield and I began our friendship back in 1992 when my family moved into her ward at church, but the Hunt/Mansfield friendship goes back further than that. My grandma was her mother's young women's leader when she was a teenager. When we moved into the ward Allie and I hit it off! "Bubba" and I played all the time!! The dynamic trio of Allie, Courtney, and Lauren played an exciting game of Aladdin all the time. I demanded as a 4 year old to be the leading female role of Jasmine and of course I needed a leading male role and Allie Bubba sounded just like Ali Ababwa! This leaves Courtney with the important role of Rajah the tiger. Part of this game was who's house we were at was to be Jasmine but of course I would have none of that... then we (Allie and I) would end in a fist fight. One time Allie even bit my bottom lip she was so frustrated with me!!
Well as we grew up things got better until I moved to Bakersfield. We did not let this end our friendship!! My family would take monthly trips to visit them and spend a weekend hanging out. As we got older we became really cool and would spend time going out to movies by ourselves and talking about our boy-crazy lives that was until Allie went to prom with this guy who sat behind her in math our Junior year. The week after her prom Allie, my family, and I went to Mammoth for our February get away. The whole trip up to Mammoth she kept asking if she should text this boy and say she had fun at prom... of course she did so our trip would be more exciting! We stayed up late every night that trip texting Britt and talking about how cute he was and how cute it would be if they ended up dating!
We finally graduated high school and were separated by 1000 miles but just like the hour drive to her house growing up we didn't let that stop our friendship! We talked about our new lives and dreamed about our future weddings. She was one of the first people I called to tell her I was engaged and there was no doubt that Allie would be one of my bridesmaids. I was so grateful she was there for me on my special day and felt honored a year and a half later when she asked me to be her bridesmaid for her and that boy who sat behind her in her high school math class.

My bridesmaid
The night before her dress rehearsal for the wedding Allie and I laid awake talking about the past and texting Britt when we realized this is how it all started 5 and a half years ago. We layed awake texting this boy she had a crush on. Britt even remembered this was how it all started!

I cant wait to start new memories with our new families!! I know we will be best friends forever!!! I love you Bubba!!!!
